Submit your fish or fishing picture anytime during the month of June, and we will enter your name into a random drawing.  Winner will receive a $25 Hanover Outdoors gift certificate.  All we ask is that the picture is current (e.g. taken this month or last month).  Submit your pic on the form below.

Striper caught off Herring Cove Beach in Provincetown with sand eel plug I made in my woodshop… caught ten 30-40 inch fish and kept this one for dinner

Anyone know this Mayfly? Over an inch long, grey wings,tan body. Never seen one this large before. Not in New England at least…

Arthur – I think it is a Great Leadwinged Drake. More commonly known as a Hexagenia. Hook size 4-8 usually. They have two tails, not 3 like other drakes. Peak hatches on the White River are usually right around the 4th of July. Usually at dusk or on cloudy days. Tough to cast, but the fish LOVE them! – Ron

I was thinking it might be a Hex, as I’ve never seen any other fly that big before. I know how rare it is to find them, so I sort of threw it off the list of possibilities. Found this bug midday, on a sunny afternoon at the pond. Go figure!
