Before the rains hit on Weds. and Thurs. the fishing was pretty good. Our guides report successful trips with clients on the White River (both wading and floating). Water temp was 60 degrees on Weds. before the thunderstorms. However, the river is high and muddy now from the storms.
Fishing this weekend will be limited to ponds/lakes, and our smaller rivers (Mascoma and Ottauquechee) plus small brooks.
Stonefly nymphs and woolly buggers are your best bets.

One of our customers just came in and said he and his son caught some nice trout on the Mascoma this AM on red Copper John nymphs. Water is a bit high, but fishable. See their video… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YQkmERlgJdM
Just received this pic… a BIG brookie caught and released in the Upper White River near Rochester. NICE FISH!!!

Damn!
Hatch Update: One of our guides, Bill Murphy, took this pic today on the White River. It is an Isonychia mayfly. A spinner actually. Most easily identified by the “prayer” position of the light-tipped forelegs.
