Yesterday and today were actually good days to be out fishing. No rain and nice temps. Most rivers are back down to fishable levels, although still a bit high (the White River is running at 5,200 cfs today). Water temps. continue to improve also.
This week they are calling for more rain, but warmer temps. (in the 60′s). The forecast for next weekend looks good. If we don’t get too much rain, it could be good fishing.
NH trout ponds opened on April 23rd!!!

Tried to go fishing yesterday, but couldn’t find any suitable water. The White River was VERY HIGH and MUDDY. It is running at over 8,600 cfs today!!! I drove upriver to Gaysville in hopes of finding some clearer water with no luck. All the small brooks also were swollen from the rains. Stopped at Silver Lake in Barnard but it is still iced over. What’s a fisherman to do?!?!?!?
More rain = Flooding. The White River is at 9,850 cfs today!!! I heard on the radio this morning that Lake Champlain has more water in it (and over its banks) than at any other time in recorded history. Not conducive to fishing unfortunately.
Rivers are dropping but still high (White is still over 4,000 cfs). Small brooks are clearing up. Ponds are productive. Water temp was 45 degrees Saturday on the mainsteam of the lower White.
