John – if you can make it Saturday to Storrs pond between 2-4 you can test cast the rod on the water. If you can not make it then, stop by the Saturday morning and test cast the rods here at the store and we’ll enter you into the contest. If you can’t make it at all on Saturday, we are trying to get the Hardy rep to leave us a rod or two for the week. But you have to come test cast the rods to be entered into the contest. – Ron
My mother Ray, age 97, and I attended the demo at Storrs Pond and tried the Grey and Hardy rods. The Sintrix is truly remarkable! Mom and I have both been fly fishing all our lives and have only had limited opportunity to keep up with modern gear – this was an eye opener. The 9′ Hardy #5 really puts out the line and has a lot of power with a silky-smooth feel. I found I was over-pushing my casts until I took the good advice to let the back cast hang out there longer. This experience has gotten me all fired up to get out and enjoy the rest of the Fall season, but I know that the Hardy has already spoiled me.
