Busy holiday weekend means lots of traffic (fishermen/women, boaters/paddlers, and swimmers) on the water. Plus the weatherman says it will be sunny and reach 90 degrees. So if you are going fishing, it might be best to go really early in the mornings or really late in the evenings.
White River: definitely fishable again after the rain earlier in the week. Tate had some luck on Cahill and Hex dries.
Small streams: Ron took Nick G. brook trout fishing yesterday to a White River trib. We caught a handful of nice wild Rainbows below the falls, and a bunch of wild Brookies above. All were caught on Caddis dries.
Ponds: Steve caught a bunch of 8 inch brook trout the other night mostly on a Renegade dry fly, and a few customers have reported catching trout and bass in various local ponds (mostly from kayaks, with both flies and lures).
Mascoma River: Ron took the Higgerson’s to the fly fishing only section on Weds. Water was high so we had to nymph (caddis and stonefly imitations worked best). See the Brown trout pic below.
