Felt banned in VT

by Ron on June 11, 2010

As you may know, Hanover Outdoors did a boot swap this spring to encourage our customers to get rid of their felt soled wading boots to help reduce the spread of invasive species, such as Didymo.

Well now you are going to be required to do it if you fish in Vermont.  The Governor just signed House bill 488 into law.  Under the new law, felt soled wading boots and waders will be illegal to use in Vermont waters starting April 1, 2011.

We’ve taken all the felt boots off our shelves and replaced them with studded, sticky rubber soled boots from Orvis, SIMMS and Grey’s

We encourage you to do your part to save our streams!
