Saltwater Fishing Update

by Ron on May 17, 2010

Lots of good reports from Maine down to R.I. on the striper fishing.  Chris caught some 30″ fish in ME this past weekend (they were feeding on grey shrimp patterns), and Rick caught a few nice ones in R.I. (on squid and cinder worm patterns).  The outgoing tide seems to be best right now.  If you are going to the Cape, try Monomoy Flatwings and Surf Candy flies.

Also, make sure you register this year!  Starting Jan. 1, 2010 a new federal law requires most saltwater recreational fishermen to sign up with the National Saltwater Angler Registry.  It is FREE, quick and easy!
