Just read the May-June issue of A.T. Journeys with “Joker” on the front cover. She was one of our guest speakers at our recent Hanover Friends of the A.T. informational meeting. The magazine also includes a letter to the editor from Mary White of the Howe Library here in Hanover detailing some of their efforts to be more hiker friendly. And on page 25 there is a picture of “Cricket” celebrating atop Katahdin; we have the same pic in our front window from the thank you post card she sent us last year.
So the final numbers for 2009 are in: 603 hikers completed the Trail. 406 were north-bound hikers, 68 south-bound, 45 flip-floppers and 111 section hikers. Congrats to all!
