Fishing Update 4/24

by Ron on April 24, 2010

In Vermont, the state has stocked only lakes and ponds.  A few reports of some trout being caught in local ponds.  The White and Ottauquechee have come back down to fishable levels after last week’s rains.

In NH, small brooks are fishing well according to a few customers.  Try hare’s ear nymphs and soft hackles.  Klinkhammers, Greg and Seth’s favorite dry flies, will also work.  The Sugar has been stocked also.

Steve took his son to the Mascoma yesterday.  The river has been stocked and the water was 52 degrees.  Fish were rising to small, black stoneflies.  See Ben’s photo below with his first Rainbow of the year.
