Fishing Update 4/21

by Ron on April 21, 2010

More reports of active trout.  Folks were seeing rising fish in the lower White.  Stoneflies were hatching.  One of our regular customers was up on the Newfound river and helped a guy land a 21 inch Rainbow.  Also, see Dave’s comment on his trip to the Mascoma last night (click here).

Finally, take a look at the pic below.  Caught last week by our good friend Shay.

Great addition to the site, guys. I took Rick’s casting class last summer and I’m hooked. (Really bad pun. wow.)

I’m coming up this weekend – thinking about checking in on the Ottauquechee and/or the Black. Any suggestions for good spots? How about hatches?

Thanks – Andrew

Andrew – thanks! The new site is a lot more fun for us also. Regarding fishing: the Black and Ottauquechee have not been stocked yet, so you’ll be fishing for holdovers. I tried the Gorge last weekend but it was still too high from the rains. Might be back down now. If you have a NH license try the Sugar or Mascoma. Both have been stocked. As far as hatches it has mostly been stoneflies. Give us a call if you need more info. – Ron
