Nice weather today and more in the forecast for tomorrow.
Despite all the rain this past weekend, there were some big trout caught.
Reports of a 20 inch Rainbow in the Ottauquechee (VT) and a big Brown in the Mascoma (NH). If you fly fish, we’ll need to get down with a sink tip line or some extra weight. Rapala minnows are working for spin casters.
Both VT and NH are stocking now. Ponds in VT have been stocked, while a few NH rivers (such as the Sugar) have been stocked also.
Water temps are still in the low 40′s.

Hey guys,
I happened to stumble upon the True’s Brook Ledges area the other day and am curious if it’s worth fishing? And if so, what can I expect to find? I would assume that nothing can get up past the falls by the bridge, but do folks fish from the bridge down to the Conn. river??
Thanks,
-Dave
Hi Dave,
Steve Cole is our Trues Brook expert. Here is his reply:
It is worth fishing. This time of year, you could find rainbows and browns that have come up out of the Conn. river, and or brook trout that have been stocked by the state. If you are using flies, the standard streamers, woollybuggers, hares ears, and stonefly nymphs should do the trick. Have some parachute adams with you as well. If using spinning gear, small mepps, vibrax, and panther martin spinners work well. Thanks for contacting us, and if you have any other questions please feel free to call or email.
Steve
Great, thanks for the info!
I landed a beautiful 17″ rainbow in the Mascoma last night on a dace streamer. They are definitely up in the tributaries right now!
Cool!! Feel free to send us photos, and we will post them if you wish.
Steve
Ya sure, I’ll e-mail you a pic and a cool video too!

Ah, a video. That would be great. That’s our next addition to the new site. Thanks! – Ron
